Michael Frankel, Managing Director, Deloitte New-Venture Accelerator

Michael Frankel serves as Managing Director and Head of the Deloitte New-venture Accelerator.  He is a senior corporate development, strategy and operating executive.  He has held leadership roles at LexisNexis Group, IRI, GE Capital and VeriSign.  He began his career at an investment banker at Merrill Lynch and a corporate attorney at Skadden, Arps.  During his career Michael has led and closed more than 100 transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures and alliances.  Michael has also led operational initiatives to develop and launch new products and technologies, expand into new markets and segments and restructure businesses and operations.  In addition, he has authored three books and several articles on M&A.  Michael earned a BA in Political Science, an MA in International Relations, an MBA, and a Juris Doctorate—all from the University of Chicago.

Carlos Games, Senior Director of Innovation, Thomson Reuters

Carlos is the Senior Director of Innovation for Thomson Reuters’ Legal Business. In his role, he partners with different people inside and outside of the enterprise to define the innovation strategy, and to execute innovation priorities through strategic projects with the potential to drive organic growth. Projects include: running ideation and innovation campaigns and challenges, defining and funding collaborative research opportunities, advising on and performing proof of concepts, and developing and leveraging relationships for co-creation with customers and industry partners.

David Coffey, SVP/Chief Digital Officer, LegalShield

Dave Coffey was named SVP, Chief Digital Officer of LegalShield in November, 2016, the leading provider of legal services in 50 states and 4 Canadian Provinces with over 700 employees and 300,000 sales associates. Most recently, Dave was the VP of Marketing and IT of vRide, a TPG Growth portfolio company, where he oversaw the development of revenue marketing and IT development. He is also a seed investor in Ride.com with TPG.

Dave Coffey is an iPhone and Instagram dependent award winning new media pioneer with over 23 years experience in the media and marketing field. With a diverse background in media agency work and IT management consulting, Dave brings a unique perspective to complex business challenges.

Dave was President of The Coffey Group, a marketing and media consulting practice. In this role, Dave has served several clients including NBC Universal’s Biggest Loser, Meredith’s Hyper Factory/New Media Strategies, Engauge, Mr. Youth, StrikeForce Communications — along with several private equity and venture capital firms including TPG Growth Fund and NCT Ventures.

Dave has served in senior leadership roles at Ogilvy, Sapient and Omnicom Media Group. Prior to The Coffey Group, Dave was Senior Partner, Director for Neo@Ogilvy. Dave also served as Director of Omnicom Media Group’s PHDiQ and as Sapient’s Global Director of Media Services. His past clients include Allstate, Travelers Direct, Mercedes, Harrah’s, Career Education, CSI Direct, Chrysler, Charles Schwab, Eward-Jones, Janus Funds, Jockey, Bissell, HBO, Discovery Communications, Citi Bank, Virgin Charter, U.S. Post Office, Department of Homeland Security, Mitsubishi Motors, and several telecommunication companies.

Dave served on the AAAA’s Advanced Television Committee, DoubleClick’s Client Advisory Board and the Audit Bureau of Circulation’s Interactive Committee. He was named MediaWeek’s 1998 All Star for New Media.

Dean Sonderegger, VP Legal Markets Group & Innovation, Wolters Kluwer

Dean Sonderegger leads the Legal Markets Group of Wolters Kluwer Legal and Regulatory US, which provides technology and information solutions to law firms, corporate legal departments, law schools, governments, and other organizations. The Legal Markets Group represents roughly 10% of Wolters Kluwer’s global legal revenues.

In this role he is responsible for accelerating the vision and strategy for the Legal Markets and Innovation teams, with a particular focus on rapid development of advanced digital products and services to enhance customers’ efficiencies and workflow.

Mr. Sonderegger has more than 25 years of experience working in the tax and legal software and services industries. He received his MBA from George Washington University and holds both a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University.

Bill O’Boyle, Founder/CEO, North State Consulting

Lorine Pendleton, Business Development Executive and Angel Investor

Lorine Pendleton is a seasoned business development executive with extensive experience in the legal, technology and entertainment industries. She was named by Marie Claire as one of the “Most 50 Connected Women in America” and one of the “200 Women of Color to Follow on Twitter” by Medium.

Lorine is an active angel investor who invests and advises women and diverse-led companies. Her investments include Cisse Trading, Traklight, Hire an Esquire and Tastemakers Africa. She is an Investment Partner in Portfolia Funds, a family of affinity funds focused on women entrepreneurs in the active aging, enterprise software, consumer and life sciences sectors. She is an alumna and member of Pipeline Angels, an angel investing training program that trains women to become angel investors to increase diversity in the US angel investing community.
